All participants are expected to treat one another with courtesy, respect, kindness, and professionalism. Inappropriate language or behaviour, including bullying, harassment, intimidation, abuse, or mistreatment of any kind, will not be tolerated. This applies to all workshop activities, including scientific sessions, social events, online platforms, chats, and any other virtual or in-person environment associated with the workshop.
Participants are also expected to approach discussions with sensitivity and awareness of the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personal circumstances of others, especially in view of the many ongoing challenges and troubling events across the world.
This Code of Conduct sets out the basic standards of behaviour that we seek to uphold within our scientific community. IPARCOS brings together people of varied national origin, ethnic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, gender, age, physical ability, religion, and personal circumstances. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone.
All participants must help maintain a professional atmosphere based on tolerance and mutual respect. Harassment or inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to, intimidation, offensive or sexual comments, crude jokes, offensive images, unwanted attention, and unwelcome physical contact. Participants should bear in mind that behaviour or language considered acceptable by one person may be experienced as inappropriate or harmful by another.
As a general reference, the workshop follows the principles of the Código de Conducta de la UCM, available in Spanish. This Code does not replace, duplicate, or extend existing legal rights and obligations, nor is it intended as an exhaustive list of rules. Rather, it is meant to remind us how we should conduct ourselves, how we should treat others, and how we can expect to be treated.
Should any incident occur, the organizers will take it seriously and will consult with those affected, discuss possible ways to address the situation, and, where appropriate, speak with those accused of misconduct. After due consideration, the organizers may take any action they deem necessary, including issuing a warning or excluding a participant from the workshop.
