Car
The easiest access is via Exit 47 (El Escorial-Guadarrama) of the A-6 motorway (Madrid-A Coruña). This exit connects to the M-600 road, which you should take towards El Escorial. After about 10 km and two roundabouts, you will enter the town of San Lorenzo, and the M-600 becomes Juan de Toledo Street, which you should continue straight ahead towards the Monastery. After about three kilometers, Juan de Toledo Street ends at a T-junction with the Carretera de La Estación (a beautiful view of the Monastery on your right). Turn left and continue down the Carretera de La Estación. After about 500 m, you will reach a traffic light. At the traffic light, the Carretera de La Estación splits into two: to the left is Avenida Felipe II, and to the right is Avenida Reyes Católicos. The "Casa de Ejercicios San José" (San José Retreat House) is located right on the corner, although the entrance is usually via Reyes Católicos. You can leave your vehicle parked inside the property.
